20 Years of Engagement in Postcolonial Education: A Retrospective
August 5, 2022 | 9:00 AM

In this talk, Peter Mayo provides a reflective retrospective of more than twenty years involvement in Postcolonial Education with special reference to his personal role in setting up a book series and a journal in the field. He exposes different interpretations of the term Postcolonial, his collaboration with and support from luminaries in the Postcolonial area, and misgivings expressed by other luminaries in related areas. What are the areas he saw of major concern for Postcolonial education as reflected in the articles carried by the journal and some themes of relevance he addressed in his own work? He leaves the journal editorship as he follows the well trodden path, though not a mandatory one, that one should not exceed ten years in editing a single specific journal.
