This presentation is interested in as to how none of the often-assumed defining characteristics of persons identified as domestic workers regarding gender, ethnicity, education level, nor social class are definitive nor determinative across different settings; and that such persons are also apparently quite often resistant to or unreachable by various attempts at outreach and development, including skills training, trade union recruitment as well as human rights interventions.
