Professor Johnson Nyarko Boampong is a distinguished academic and professional, serving as a pharmacist, biomedical scientist, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a fellow of various organizations, including the Ghana College of Pharmacists, the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, and the CV Raman Fellowship. Additionally, he holds a board position at the Association of African Universities.

Prof. Boampong’s multifaceted research interests are a testament to his diverse professional background in Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy. These include Parasitic Diseases, Drug-Resistant Parasites, Drug Discovery, and Targeted Drug Delivery. He has authored over sixty scholarly publications and secured substantial grants to support his research endeavors in these areas.

As Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, he is assiduously working to reposition the university as a world-class entrepreneurial University. He envisions universities as catalysts for economic advancement, fostering a student mindset that embraces entrepreneurship and providing a supportive environment for practical learning. Prof. Boampong is a Christian and is married with children.
