BIOGRAPHY:

Patience Okyere is a Ph.D. student with dual affiliations in Applied Linguistics and African Studies at Pennsylvania State University. Originally from Ghana, she currently works as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Intensive English Communication Program (IECP). She previously served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where she developed her passion for teaching and research.

Her academic interests focus on the intersection of language and identity, classroom second language (L2) discourse, writing, and public discourse, with a particular emphasis on how linguistic practices influence cultural and educational experiences. Outside of academia, Patience enjoys listening to music and taking nature walks. Although naturally introverted, she finds fulfillment in sharing knowledge and connecting with others through teaching and mentorship.
