BIOGRAPHY:
Özge Deniz is pursuing a dual-title Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and African Studies at Penn State. Prior to her doctoral studies, she taught English and worked as a curriculum coordinator at the tertiary level in Istanbul. She has also taught Turkish to various immigrant communities in the city. Her research explores multilingualism and the politics of South-South mobilities through ethnographic lenses, with a particular focus on African international student mobility to Turkish higher education.
