Dorothy Takyiakwaa is a lecturer in gender studies and urban sociology at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and also a researcher at the Centre for Gender Research, Advocacy and Documentation, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Dorothy has a PhD in Urban Sociology from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Dorothy’s research interests include gender, sexualities, relationship between gender socialization and gender-based violence, power and oppression, African urbanisms, migration, social stratification, social mobility and informal networks, and women and education. Dorothy is an advocate for women’s issues.
